ICI Appoints Vivian Lausevic as Director, Political Affairs

Washington, DC, September 17, 2004 – The Investment Company Institute, the national association of the mutual fund industry, is pleased to announce that Vivian Lausevic has been appointed Director, Political Affairs. Her responsibilities at ICI include developing and implementing initiatives to promote the Institute’s participation in the political process. Ms. Lausevic joins the Institute today from the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (NAREIT) where she was Director, Government Affairs.

Dan Crowley, the Institute’s Chief Government Affairs Officer, said, “Vivian is an accomplished and successful professional whose understanding of the political process will be an enormous asset to ICI. ICI is pleased to have her join our bipartisan government affairs team in representing ICI members and the nation’s 91 million mutual fund investors.”

Prior to working at NAREIT, Ms. Lausevic was Vice President, Business Development at Juno Online Services/Advocacy Inc. where she developed on-line advocacy and grassroots strategies for clients including the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Business Roundtable. Earlier, she was a fundraiser for several political candidates and committees including Kennedy for Senate and the Committee for a Democratic Majority. She earned an M.A. degree in politics and German from Mount Holyoke College and studied European and International Relations at the University of Zagreb, Croatia.
